In the pre-dawn hours of yesterday's Borgess Run Camp, off-duty Change Agent Darrell Harden was able to extract lost camper Allison Céilleachair Young from the depths of the Kalamazoo Family YMCA after she wandered into what was best described as "The Beyond."
"It was just so scary," said Young, who had been gone several minutes before an alert Harden jumped into action, dashing from the upper gym and beginning his search near the women's restroom. "It's hard to describe what I was experiencing," said Young, "but what made it even more frightening was that I could almost feel the pulsing music from upstairs, but everywhere I looked, I saw strangers."
"I knew it would be treacherous," said Harden after the rescue. "After all, she was wearing that same yellow-green that is so common in The Beyond, but at least the search wasn't complicated by plaid, Kermit the Frog hats or tutus. In the end, it was that 'I am so out of place here' look that drew me to Allison," said Harden. "She was pretty emotional near the end."
Taken back up to the gym after the 10-minute ordeal, Allison received handshakes and hugs, and was finally able to recover enough to run, albeit a shorter distance than the week before.

You would never find a Kermit the Frog hat in The Beyond... ~ Jen
Thank goodness Darrell came to the rescue for Allison! Of course, his expertise in all things related to navigating routes probably helped, too.
You know, as a public servant, I try to always be available to rescue those in need. As a lieutenant commander in Run Camp, it's my responsibility, even when I'm off duty.
Feel free to capitalize your title, Lt. Commander Harden.
