Midwestern Sledding Finals Will Create More Parking Problems at Portage Y next Saturday. Come early, and park far away.Run Camp Team Leader Tessa Emenheiser received an unofficial warning from camp organizers Saturday, scolded because her team leading techniques were "getting under the skin" of her fellow team leaders. Not a camp favorite with her colleagues anyway, because she is on the Camp Planning Committee, works at Gazelle and inherited the nucleus of Doris Dirks' team, Emenheiser is accused of "running up the score" on other team leaders. Her team this week won "most campers" and "highest percentage of campers" awards, along with lesser honors, such as "most fun between mile markers 4 and 5."
"Oh, I get the fancy shoes and the big smile," said one disgruntled team leader, "but some of the stuff we see at cool-down just really isn't necessary. Back off, I say. Just back off."
Organizers said the warning would be in effect until the Gull Lake run.
Emenheiser seemed neither defiant nor contrite upon learning of the warning. "Hey, we'll see you next week," she beamed.
