New Camp Mascot To Be Named

The Borgess Run Camp Mascot Selection Committee is expected to announce Monday that "Toggle," a New Zealand lamb who comes to Kalamazoo by way of Lafayette, Colorado, will be the official team mascot for the remainder of 2007.

Toggle, raised in the famous Waitrose district, most recently was serving as mascot for a Lafayette high school competitive cheer team.

"In terms of what we were willing to pay, Toggle had almost everything we were looking for," said Committee Spokesperson Darrin Lund. "He's not the best jumper in the world, but what he lacks in spring, he more than makes up for in personality." Lund declined to name other mascot finalists.

Because of other obligations, Toggle is not expected in camp until the Gull Lake run.
